Ilham Tohti , an outspoken speaker against CHINA'S policies against the Uyghur minority of Xinjiang (Western China) was awarded with Martin Ennal's award for human rights defenders on Tuesday.

Tohti was sentenced to lifetime imprisonment in 2014.

                              They said.
